At a recent board meeting of the Communion of Churches in Korea (CCIK), Executive Director Rev. Han Yeong-hun (photo) announced that he will resign from the position early, before his term ends on January 30, 2015. His decision, he said, is mainly to take responsibility following the court decision related to the misuse of funds at Hanyoung Theological University. Rev. Han is the former president of that university. As his announcement comes shortly after the early resignation of Rev. Hong Jae-cheol, executive director of the Christian Council of Korea (CCK), church circles are hoping this will provide the opportunity for reunion and new leadership of both of these large ecumenical organizations.
