2014-11-24 18:00

The Seoul Metro Mission Society (SMM·President, Elder Lee Gyeong-su) held a special service in commemoration of its 30th anniversary on November 22 at Seoul Metro Human Resource Development and Education Institute on Cheonhodae-ro in Seongdong-gu, Seoul.

The Society began as a small prayer meeting by just a few Christian employees for safe operation of the Seoul metro subway, and later was officially launched as a mission society in 1984. Now, under the Society headquarters there are 19 district mission societies with 991 members. As its mid- to long-term task, the Society has set up plans to increase its district mission societies to 39 with 3,000 members.

Approximately 200 Society members and representatives of the Korean Christian Work Mission attended the celebration service this day. At the choir competition held after the service, in which nine teams participated, Gunja Garage Mission won first place.

The photo shows members and their families as they gathered last May after volunteering at Dail Community’s free meal center in Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul.
