The Christian Council of Korea (CCK) opened its 26th General Assembly (photo) on January 27 in the auditorium of the Korean Christian Ecumenical Building, located on Daehak-no, Jongno-gu, Seoul. With regard to the most outstanding question on the agenda, that is, whether to revoke the “heretical groups” designation against Ryu Gwang-su and the late Rev. Park Yun-shik, the assembly accepted the report of the Heretical and Pseudo Groups Countermeasures Committee, and agreed to have the next officers meeting examine the issue before it is handed over to the executive committee for the final decision.
As for the question of whether to accept the re-entry of Assemblies of God of Korea (AGK Seodaemun) (Moderator: Rev. Ham Dong-geun), which had been inactive for several years and had virtually withdrawn due to the CCK split, the assembly approved its return by a vote of acclamation, following approval by the executive committee. As a result, both Assemblies of God Korea (AGK Yoido Full Gospel and AGK Seodaemun) will resume their CCK activities, as they are in the process of uniting as one denomination.
