“We inherit his aspirations for Korean church revival and unity”

“Believers need three conditions. First, we must be born again through water and the Holy Spirit. Second, we must be filled with the Holy Spirit, and third, we must live according to the will of the Holy Spirit.”

Watching on screen the images of departed elder pastor Lee Man-shin (former executive director of the Christian Council of Korea; Jungang Holiness Church), an exemplary Korean church revivalist, as he preached in earlier times, one or two participants and then gradually others pulled out handkerchiefs to wipe away tears.

The solemn funeral service took place on February 21 at Jungang Holiness Church in Jongno-gu, Seoul, to bid farewell to Rev. Lee. His coffin was placed below the platform, as leaders and believers from church circles engaged in worship to send off this respected pastor whose ardent hope till the end of his life was “Korean church unity and harmony.”

Rev. Lee’s body was interred in Jungang Church’s Saenggi Dongsan cemetery in Jangji-dong, Gwangju city, Gyeonggi-do. On that day, the heavens sent down rain all day long.
