On May 11~12, Chongshin University (Gil Ja-yeon, president) held the “3rd World Reformed Church International Academic Conference,” seeking ways to cooperate with Reformed theological seminaries from around the world. The conference took place at the university’s Yangji campus in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do, and at its Seoul campus. Current and former presidents of Reformed theological seminaries in the U.S., U.K., Netherlands, China and the Philippines introduced the situations of churches in their countries, and emphasized the importance of solidarity to safeguard the Reformed faith.

Among the participants in this academic conference were: Herman Selderhuis, president of the International Calvin Congress (and former president of Apeldoorn Seminary, the Netherlands); Julie Maiden Black, president of Calvin Theological Seminary, the U.S.; Aiming Wang, vice-president of Nanjing Union Theological Seminary, China; Joseph Shao, president of the Biblical Seminary of the Philippines; Iver Martin, President of Edinburgh Theological Seminary; and Robert Strivens, president of London Theological Seminary.
