“During the past 70 years, the division between South Korea and North Korea has widened drastically. Capable research is needed to understand the overall situation. In carrying out the reunification movement, the Korean church as a whole must come up with a comprehensive strategy for reunification and North Korean mission.”
So said Rev. Cho Joseph (center, photo) of Seoul Muldaen Dongsan Church at the “Jubilee Prayer Meeting for Reunification and Salvation of the Country,” held on May 11 at Areumdaun Church on Jungang-ro in Jeju. Specifically, Rev. Cho mentioned the setting up of a “reunification mission school” to provide education on North Korea inside and outside the church, the development of various healing programs for North Korean residents wounded under the oppressive North Korean political system, and support to local churches in South Korea who currently are engaged in mission for North Korean defectors.
