Rev. Yu Ji-yeong (55, photo), new director of the Domestic Mission Association of the Korea Baptist Convention (KBC; Kwak Do-hui, moderator), said in an interview with Kukmin Daily on August 21, “The core goal of KBC’s domestic mission is to set up healthy churches,” expressing this as his personal hope as well.
At a service of thanks, farewell and welcome to former and new directors, held this day in the worship room of the KBC General Assembly building on Gughwoe-daero in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, Rev. Yu was inaugurated as the 10th director of the Domestic Mission Association.
At the service, KBC Moderator Kwak Do-hui requested new Director Yu to “Embrace the more than 70% of our churches that are not yet self-reliant, remembering their tears.” Director Yu promised, “I will actively support their establishment as healthy churches that give joy to the Lord.”
