“I believe the fostering of leaders for the next generation is a good dream given by God. We have prayed that we might raise people, not buildings, to dedicate to God’s Kingdom. I thank God that our prayers are bearing fruit.”

In his keynote speech “Boondang Central Presbyterian Church’s Ministry of Raising Leaders: Its vision, fruits, and future tasks,” delivered at the third “9.30 Conference,” held at K Hotel Seoul in Seocho-gu on September 30, Rev. Choi Jong-cheon (right in photo) expressed these positive feelings as he looked back 26 years to the start of his preparations to build a church that transforms the world by nurturing people.

Organized by Boondang Church and held on September 30 every year, the “9.30 Conference” was begun in 2013 for the purpose of discussing future directions for the Korean church. This year, 45 professors from 20 Korean seminaries and theological institutions, and experts in theology participated in the conference. They are all former recipients of overseas scholarships from Boondang Church, working steadfastly to raise future church leaders.
