For the past 21 days, Oryun Community Church (Rev. Kim Eun-ho) has been holding the revival “2016 Daniel Prayer” at its main sanctuary in Gangdong-gu, Seoul.
During the 21 days, approximately 73,000 participants joined in prayer. Nineteen guest speakers shared their inspiring stories, including Rev. Satish Kumar (Calvary Temple, India), Missionary Kenneth Bae, who was released after detention in North Korea, Senior Deacon Choi Seon-ja (actress), and Lee Man-su (former baseball coach). Fifteen well-known praise teams, including Holy Impact, The One, Team Joshua, and famous artists including singer Park Ji-min, Soriel, and Eom Tae-ri, joined the events.
According to Oryun Church, the number 73,000 refers to the on-site participants; the revival also was watched live on 5,337 TV monitors in 3,217 churches throughout the nation, and the live service was watched on 349,492 PC monitors in 49 countries around the world.
On November 21, the last day of the event, Rev. Ju Seong-ha, in charge of overseeing the prayer revival, said, “It has been amazing to have local churches from 229 regions out of the entire 234 local municipalities in the country, joined together for 21 days regardless of denomination, religious sect, region, or time zone. We provided support in the form of 307 fifty-five-inch monitors and 10 LED sign boards to help make this possible. And during this period, we received pledges for yeontan (coal briquets) deliveries and donations of faith books.”
Head pastor Rev. Kim Eun-ho, who has led the prayer gathering for the past 19 years, said, “I’ve been praying that next year this will be a united prayer gathering of 10,000 local churches dreaming of spiritual restoration.”
