Growing Unease on Korean Peninsula Brings More Fervent Prayers for Unity in Gospel

2017-02-17 17:39

As unease on the Korean peninsula grows in the wake of North Korea’s ballistic missile launching and Kim Jong-nam’s assassination, Korean church members are praying all the more fervently for North Korean salvation and for reunification through the Gospel. As they think of their sisters and brothers in the North, starving and suffering human rights violations under the Juche ideology, they are conducting prayer fasts; and following the assassination incident, they have sent calming messages to Northern defectors living here.

On February 16, some 1,000 believers taking part in the North Korean Salvation Prayer Fast at Hindolsan Retreat Center in Suwon, Gyeonggi-do, pray earnestly for freedom for their fellow Koreans in the North. The event is continuing till the 18th.
