60% of PCK Tonghap Churches Are Composed of 100 or Fewer Persons

2017-02-22 12:38

According to recent research, 60% of the 8,843 churches belonging to the Presbyterian Church of Korea - Tonghap (Rev. Lee Seong-hui, moderator) have just 100 or fewer persons taking part in their worship and other activities. But the striking fact is that only 7.5% of those persons are actually registered as members, due to people’s tendency to attend medium- or large-sized churches. PCK Tonghap is taking a serious view of this research result, realizing that it shows the graphic reality of the “rich get richer, poor get poorer” phenomenon in its member churches.
