Sewol Ferry, 3 Years: The Church Was There

3-1. Accompaniment in Service… As Friends Giving Solace, As Errand-Runners

Keepers of the Site in the South

This Easter Sunday, April 16, is also the third anniversary of the Sewol Ferry Disaster. The Korean churches have been voluntary instruments of solace, hope, healing, and restoration in the midst of the inescapable shock, sadness, and anger caused by the disaster. We look back now on the 1,000 some days of service by churches and believers who have continued their ministry until the sunken ferry Sewol was lifted out of the sea and brought up on land, and who are persevering until the bereaved families and the families of the nine still missing open up their hearts to the support.
