The Korean Army Central Investigators is investigating 32 gay soldiers for same-sex activities in the barracks, but the Center for Military Human Rights has expressed opposition to this as a violation of human rights, and said it will file a lawsuit with the National Human Rights Commission. The Correct Military Human Rights Research Institute (representative: Kim Yeong-gil, center in front row) and other civil organizations agreeing with the Army Investigators’ position, held a press conference (photo) on April 17 in front of the National Defense Ministry in Seoul, and requested a thorough, strict investigation this time to end widespread same-sex activities in the barracks.
