KFC and CCIK Agree to Fully Merge into "Korea Christian Coalition"

2017-07-14 17:14

The Korea Federation of Churches (KFC) and the Communion of Churches in Korea (CCIK) have agreed to merge into one organization. This decision came six months after the KFC announced last January its ‘big tent’ design encompassing the Christian Council of Korea (CCK), CCIK, and the National Council of Churches in Korea. The name of this new ecumenical organization is Korea Christian Coalition (KCC, temporary name).

The 15 major denomination heads of KFC had a meeting (photo) on July 13 at Sheraton Seoul Palace Gangnam Hotel in Seocho-gu, Seoul, and decided to merge with CCIK to establish KCC. They also decided to form a standing executive directors group consisting of the heads of denominations with more than 1,000 member churches.

KFC and CCIK agreed to hold the founding general assembly of KCC on August 1 at the Korean Church Centennial Memorial Building.
