On August 29, in front of Busan City Hall in Yeonje-gu, Busan, some 3,000 citizens rallied against homosexuality and same-sex marriage (top photo). The organizers of this group, named “People’s Coalition against Constitutional Amendment Legalizing Homosexuality and Same-Sex Marriage,” are: Busan Christian Council, Busan Holy City Movement Center, Busan Coalition against Homosexuality, and Busan Citizens to Make Healthy Families. Participants from religious circles include Protestants, Catholics, Buddhists, and Confucianists.

At the same time, in the grand auditorium of Busan City Hall, the first public discussion session was held for revision of the Constitution, sponsored by the National Assembly’s Special Committee for Constitutional Amendment (photo below). The discussion series will continue in 11 regions in the nation. The “People’s Coalition against Constitutional Amendment Legalizing Homosexuality and Same-Sex Marriage” plans to continue its rallies alongside the schedule of the Special Committee’s public discussions until the end of the year.
