2017-09-15 17:07

To commemorate the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, the Korean Church History Museum (director: Elder Han Dong-in) will hold a “14th Exhibition Project: The Reformation and the Korean Church” from September 19 to 30 at the special exhibition room in the museum, located in Icheon city, Gyeonggi-do.

On display at the exhibition will be some 120 historical items from the early Korean church, selected from the lifelong collection of the museum’s founder, Elder ‘Hyangsan’ Han Young-je, and organized according to the themes of Bible, public education, women’s rights, diakonia, and worship.

Some of the historical materials in the exhibition are being shown publicly for the first time, including “Church Social Work,” published in 1932 by Missionary Charles Allen Clark; “Teaching Plan for the First Women Evangelists Training,” published in 1942; and “Children’s International Sunday School Curriculum,” published in 1933.

Museum Director Han Dong-in said, “This special project will introduce the roots of the Korean Protestant church, which achieved a miraculous revival. I hope this will be an opportunity for many believers to receive inspiration from the early Korean church.”
