On March 13, Miral Welfare Foundation (board chair: Rev. Hong Jeong-gil) reported that actors Lee Sang-yun, Shim Ji-ho, Lee Gi-u and Gwon Seong-min have joined in “#CheeringyouinParalympics,” the foundation’s campaign in support of the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Paralympics. The campaign brings into harmony the video messages of actors expressing sincere hopes for better recognition of persons with disabilities, and the paintings of intellectually disabled artist Shin Dong-min (top photo) depicting six kinds of Paralympics events with their special characteristics, ways of competing, and a main events timetable. The campaign video went public on March 9 via the foundation’s official Instagram service (@miralwelfarefoundation), further enhancing the cheering spirit at the Paralympics.
Miral Welfare Foundation standing representative Jeong Hyeong-seok said, “We prepared this campaign to cheer the successful opening of the Winter Paralympics and at the same time to elevate concern for persons with disabilities…We hope that through this campaign many people will find it easier to understand the Paralympics events, and that everyone will be more friendly and accepting of their neighbors with disabilities.”
