Tom Doyle: “Muslims are our neighbors; tell them about Jesus’ Great Commission”

Rev. Tom Doyle (photo), president of “Uncharted,” a ministry to the Middle East, held a press conference on August 9 at the Voices of the Martyrs (VOM) Korea in Mapo-gu, Seoul, and declared that the arrival of Muslims in Korea is a perfect opportunity to evangelize them.

“Contrary to widespread worries, the majority of Muslims are not extremists who would cause terror or commit crimes,” he said. “Muslims are our neighbors, and churches should approach them with the Gospel and mission, and tell them about Jesus’ Great Commission.” He added, “It’s the government’s role to track down terrorists and block the entry of bad persons.”

“In the U.S. each year, more than 30,000 Muslims become Christians,” Rev. Doyle said. “If we meet their needs and pray for them, God will answer our prayers and we can reach them with the Gospel.” He advised, “When you meet Muslims, say, ‘Jesus loves you’…That is Jesus’ authority and Word.”

Rev. Doyle is visiting the demilitarized zone (DMZ) on August 10~11, and speaking at a school for North Korean defectors in Seoul. On the 13th at 7:30 p.m., he will present a lecture at VOM for ordinary believers, on ways to evangelize Muslims.

As a licensed tour guide for Israel, Doyle has traveled to Israel over 70 times. He carried out pastoral ministries in Colorado, Texas and New Mexico for over 20 years. Last November, he founded “Uncharted.” JoAnn Doyle, his wife and companion for the past 37 years, works as the director of “Not Forgotten,” a ministry for women in the Middle East.
