On February 7, the day before Lunar New Year’s Day, members and teachers of Shin Mang Ae (Faith, Hope and Love) Orphanage dressed in traditional costume and visited Jeomchon Church in Mungyeong-shi, Gyeongsangbuk-do, to give thanks to God for blessings from heaven. Shin Mang Ae Orphanage was built in 1954 by the late Elder Hwang Yong-seok to nurture children in the image of Christ. Starting with 12 children who had lost their parents in the Korean War, to date more than 800 have grown up “successfully” here, with some becoming pastors, professors, and doctors.
