The service of inauguration for Chongshin University’s sixth president Rev. Kim Yeong-Wu (at right in photo) was held on August 25 at its Sadang campus. Students, school staff members, and persons related to the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Korea (PCK Hapdong) took part in the service.

New President Kim said in his inaugural speech, “I’ll do my best to support Chongshin University’s building of a strong reform theology and worldview, based on the Bible… I ask for the prayers and help of believers and students, that we may send forth many capable persons.”

Former president Rev. Gil Ja-yeon said in his farewell message, “History never goes backwards; it’s just people who come and go… I hope all the students, professors, and staff members will join efforts for Chongshin University to develop anew as a world-renowned university that makes God rejoice.”

In his sermon “Fostering True Workers,” former PCK Hapdong moderator Rev. Kim Jun-gyu said, “At this time when our people are facing crisis, I would like to ask the new president to demonstrate his wonderful leadership through Chongshin University’s fostering of true workers for God: persons like Moses who can be leaders in times of crisis.”
