Jeong Bo-kyeong (25, Ansan City), who on August 6 (local time) won South Korea’s first Rio Olympics medal by defeating Dayaris Mestre Alvarez (Cuba) in the first round of the judo semifinals, clasped her hands above her head in a prayer of thanks (photo). Early last year, through the introduction of An Rae-hyeon, president of the Korean Olympic Delegates Christian Fellowship, Judoka Jeong attended the Wednesday prayer meeting at Taeneung Athletes Village, and there she accepted the Christian faith.
