Consolation and Support for Bereaved Families Continues During Chuseok Holidays

2014-09-11 16:00

Christians continued their prayers during the Chuseok holidays, at the hunger strike tent (photo) located in Gwanghwamun Plaza, asking for complete clarification of facts in the Sewol disaster and expressing hope that the 10 still-missing victims will be found. “Christians Remembering Sewol Disaster” will continue their prayer fast in relays until October 10. The group will also resume its one-person demonstration in front of the National Assembly from September 11.

On September 11, the National Council of Churches in Korea (NCCK) Sewol Disaster Committee also resumes its candlelight vigil for legislation of a Sewol Special Law. The vigil takes place in front of Cheongun-Hyojadong Community Center near Cheongwadae, the President’s residence, every day at 7 p.m. until the day the bill is passed by the National Assembly.
