The Council of Pastors for Church Renewal (Representative: Rev. Lee Geon-yeong) held a seminar titled “How to minister successfully to the aging and bereaved” on November 17 at Seohyun Church on Jandari-ro in Mapo-gu, Seoul. Main speaker Son Eui-seong, Professor of the Welfare and Theology Department at Pai Chai University, said, “Churches need to respond immediately to issues related to aging, by forming teams to minister exclusively to the elderly, and by operating programs that promote elderly persons’ active participation.” Prof. Son emphasized that church ministry also needs to address death as an important developmental stage of life, so that elderly members may adjust better to it.
