MMF Publishes “Issues & the Future”: Pending Questions and Alternatives for the Korean Church

2015-04-21 17:13

The Mirae Ministry Forum (MMF; Rev. Lee Yun-jae, representative), an inter-denominational, ecumenical organ composed of members of the clergy, celebrated the coming out of its new book “Issues & the Future” at a ceremony (photo) on April 20 at the Korea Press Center, on Taepyeong-no in Jung-gu, Seoul. The “Issues & the Future” publication is one part of Mirae Ministry Forum’s ongoing “Projects Commemorating 130 Years of Korean Christian Mission and 70 Years Since Liberation.”

The 496-page “Issues & the Future” is divided into a total of 11 sections, including: “Christianity and Public Policy,” “Christianity and Life Ethics,” “Christianity and Economics,” “The Korean Churches’ Ecumenical Movement,” “The Reunification Movement,” and “Future Strategies.” It describes the Korean churches’ merits and demerits, names specific tasks facing the churches, and offers possible solutions.

In accord with the purpose of the publication, which is “to predict and prepare for the coming future,” its final section on “Future Strategies” was composed through the diverse participation of futurologists, theologians, sociologists, National Assembly members and others, who comment on the social situations that have afflicted our country, indicate problems that may arise within the churches as a result of those situations, and suggest alternatives.

“Issues & the Future” is being sold at bookstores around the country. Those wishing to purchase 10 or more copies may contact Mirae Ministry Forum directly (02-762-1004).
