On November 16, the Communion of Churches in Korea (CCIK; Rev. Yang Byeong-hui, executive director) announced the statement “Barbaric Terrorist Attacks Are Not Just Others’ Problem,” and strongly condemned the terrorist attack on France by extremist armed group Islamic State.
In the statement, CCIK warned that Korea is not safe from terrorist attack. CCIK also pointed out, “The Korean church should, with open hearts, take the lead in serving migrant workers and immigrants to Korea, and not take the European situation lightly.” CCIK urged the government to establish more complete measures against possible terrorist attacks on innocent citizens.
