The Presbyterian Church of Korea (PCK Tonghap; moderator: Rev. Chae Young-nam), one of the largest denominations in Korea, decided to issue a special pardon to Kim Gi-dong (Seoul Seongrak Church), Lee Myeong-beom (Rhema Mission Society), Byeon Seung-wu (Keunmideum Church), and the late Park Yun-shik (Myeonggang Jeil Church). These four persons were formerly declared heretical by the Korean church, but acknowledged the wrongness of their theology, repented, and promised to accept the Korean church's guidance. The “pardon” is conditional and the four are subject to two years under observation.
The decision was made at the PCK Tonghap board meeting on September 9 (photo). During its 100th general assembly, held in September last year, PCK Tonghap formed the special pardon committee as a temporary organization.
