Rev. Jeon Byeong-sik, Director of Baewha Women’s University Chapel, performs the service of baptism for students in the school’s main auditorium on May 11. Ahead of “Coming of Age Day” (the third Monday in May), the school held a coming-of-age ceremony along with a baptism ceremony at which 281 students were baptized. Founded in 1898 by Missionary Josephine Campbell (from the Southern Methodist Church, USA), Baewha proclaimed 10 years ago, “Let our faith make us adults,” and added baptism to its annual Coming of Age Day ceremony, continuing the practice since then.
