7 Heads of Major Korean Denominations Resolve to Pursue CCK-CCIK Unity

2016-07-27 17:03

Moderators and vice-moderators representing seven major Korean church denominations met on July 26 and resolved to work for reunification of the Christian Council of Korea (CCK; Rev. Lee Young-hoon, executive director) and the Communion of Churches in Korea (CCIK; Rev. Jo Il-lae, executive director). CCIK was established in March 2012 when a number of CCK member denominations, criticizing CCK’s “money-powered” elections, withdrew from the organization; this was the origin of the split. The photo shows CCK and CCIK representatives during their discussion of reunification plans on the 26th at Koreana Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul.
