The Lutheran Church in Korea announced on September 22 that Bishop Dr. Munib Younan (65·photo), President of the Lutheran World Federation (LWF), will visit Korea next month.
Elected LWF President in 2010 for a seven-year term, President Younan represents a communion of 145 Lutheran denominations in 98 countries of the world. This will be the first time for an LWF president to visit Korea. During his six-day visit, he will join a prayer meeting for peaceful reunification on the Korean peninsula and take part in the 45th General Assembly of the Lutheran Church in Korea.
