18 theologians including Prof. Kim Sang-geun, Department of Theology at Yonsei University, announced a statement on August 18 calling for prompt passage of a Sewol Special Law. In the statement they said, “It has been more than 120 days since the tragedy, but it has not been clarified yet why the ferry sank and why no one was rescued… The truth about this incident must be clarified, regardless of political interests.”
