NCCK Announces Common Prayer Week for Victims of Ferry Sinking

The National Council of Churches in Korea (NCCK) announced on April 20 that this year the Week of Family, starting on April 21, will be a common prayer week to be together with families in deep sorrow. The heads of member denominations of NCCK decided this at an emergency meeting held on April 19 at Seoul Cathedral of the Anglican Church of Korea. Accordingly, the denominations are encouraging their member churches to set aside a moment of special prayer during both early morning prayers and Sunday worship services, and are planning to have local churches prepare special prayer corners for members and the general public.
